[BACK ]Ashlan Gorse

As one of Hollywood’s hottest hosts, Ashlan Gorse has made a career out of interviewing the world’s biggest celebrities. But, it’s her wit, beauty, and intelligence that have made her a small screen star in her own right. Gorse currently appears on E! Entertainment as a lead correspondent for the network’s top-rated daily newsmagazine, “E! News.” She covers everything from breaking news and celebrity exclusives to award shows and premieres. Gorse also does double duty as the anchor of the network’s online portal “E! News Now,” where she is currently seen by a whopping four million visitors per week.

Gorse’s girl-next-door appeal is deeply rooted in her Southern heritage. Born in Tennessee and raised in North Carolina, Gorse got her start at the age of 14 as a print and runway model. Although she achieved early success, she craved a more substantive entertainment career. Gorse enrolled in University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s prestigious School of Journalism – one of the top five journalism colleges in the country. Gorse earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism and a Minor in Music.

Following graduation, Gorse set her sights on New York City. She secured a position in the NBC Page Program at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The job proved to be a major coup for the budding journalist. Gorse gained invaluable hands-on experience working on shows such as “The Today Show,” “Saturday Night Live,” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.”

Gorse was subsequently hired as a Production Assistant on “Access Hollywood,” where she quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to Field Producer. This role segued to Gorse’s recruitment by cable network MSNBC, where she served as a Reporter and Segment Producer for the entertainment shows, “Hot List” and “At the Movies.” Around this time, Gorse also caught the attention of MTV execs, who offered her a role as a coach on the hit series “Made.” Gorse’s positivity and Southern charm made her the perfect fit to teach etiquette and manners to a rebellious tomboy.

During the summer of 2006, Gorse moved to the entertainment capital of the world, Hollywood, where she landed a job as West Coast Editor at Large with Life & Style Weekly. Specializing in pop culture and celebrity news, Gorse became one of the Nation’s most sought after entertainment experts and on-air commentators. She regularly appeared on outlets such as NBC, CNN, CBS, The TV Guide Network, and Fox News and was a frequent guest on shows like “The Today Show,” “The Insider,” “The Early Show,” and more. In fact, Gorse secured over 350 interviews during an eleven-month period.

Gorse joined the on-camera team at E! Entertainment in 2007. She was hired to host “E! News Now,” which led to her current role as a correspondent and fill-in anchor for “E! News.”

Gorse’s endeavors go far beyond the small screen these days. She has worked with the Environmental Media Association, actively supports the ASPCA, and has put her modeling skills to good use through walking in shows for The Race to Erase MS and the Susan G. Komen / Diane Von Furstenberg Fashion for a Cure Show.

Gorse is also a seasoned traveler and world class adventurer. To date, she’s visited over sixty countries. Notably, she has swam with sharks in Bora Bora, thrown the first ceremonial pitch at a Dodgers game, skydived with the US Army, zip lined through the Costa Rican rain forest, and nearly sacked Hall of Famer Joe Montana during a celebrity football game. Gorse is always game for the next big challenge.

Gorse currently resides with her rescued Siberian Husky Aurora (named after the Northern Lights) in West Hollywood, CA.
